All paid parking zones in Dubai – except multilevel parking garages – will be free of charge from Thursday until Saturday.

The emirate’s Roads and Transport Authority made the announcement after the death of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance.

On Wednesday, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, declared a mourning period of 10 days in the emirate after his brother died following months of ill health.

The Dubai Ruler’s Court also announced that work in all government departments and institutions in the city would be suspended for three days, from Thursday.
