ABU DHABI // Parking will be free from midnight on Thursday until 7.59am on Saturday for the Hijri New Year.
The Department of Transport, however, reminded motorists that this does not give them the right to double park, block vehicles or obstruct the flow of traffic.
It is strictly prohibited to park along yellow and black lines, pedestrian walkways and next to fire hydrants.
Residents-only parking areas for permit holders will operate between 9pm and 8am.
Mawaqif’s customer care centres will be closed on Thursday and Friday, while the DoT’s customer care centre at its headquarters will remain closed from Thursday until Saturday.
