DUBAI// A truck flipped over on Al Khail Road, headed towards Abu Dhabi, at around 9.30am, causing heavy congestion.
Col Saif Al Mazrouei, director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, said two other vehicles were damaged. The road was temporarily blocked by a shipment of boxes that fell off the 14-wheeler.
“Patrol units were immediately dispatched to the scene as soon as we got the call from the operations room,” he said. “They monitored and supervised the situation, making sure that all material was removed from the road and the vehicles were moved by Dubai Police cranes.
“It was hours before the road re-opened and traffic flow went back to normal.”
