DUBAI // The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has reminded public transport users that all categories of the first batch of Nol cards, will expire on Friday next week.
About 46,000 cardholders were expected to be affected, the RTA said. “We would wish to remind the public to pay attention to the expiry dates of various types of gold, silver and blue Nol cards, and obtain newly valid cards,” said Khalid Al Awadhi, director of automated fare collection at the RTA.
Mr Al Awadhi said customers could continue to use expired silver or blue Nol cards with minimum balance of Dh5.8, Dh2.9 for personalised blue Nol cards for students and seniors. Gold card holders should have a minimum of Dh11.6 on their cards to use transport services.
Balances could also be transferred to new cards, he said.
“Users of expired Nol cards who have balances in their cards higher than the minimum level could continue using their cards after expiry until the balances run out,” he said.
