A vehicle burst into flames in a car park on Thursday sending smoke billowing.
Fire crews tackled the blaze in the Taawun area of Sharjah about 11am.
Pictures taken by a resident showed firefighters had to duck down as flames flared up around them at one stage.
The cause was not known but such faults and fires are relatively common in hotter months as temperatures ramp up.
A Civil Defence spokesman said no injuries were reported and crews prevented the flames from damaging three vehicles parked next to the car on fire.
