The anniversary of the Dubai Metro coincides with the laying of the foundation stone this week of Route 2020 Project by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council.

The Dubai Metro is celebrating its seventh anniversary on Friday. It has served more than 830 million passengers since it was opened.

The anniversary of the Dubai Metro coincides with the laying of the foundation stone this week of Route 2020 Project by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council.

The project will extend the Red Line by 15 kilometres from Nakheel Harbour and Tower Station to the site of the Expo 2020.
