The Dh150 million bridge to Deira Islands is set to open this Friday, according to the Roads and Transport Authority.

DUBAI// A Dh150 million bridge to Deira Islands in Dubai will open on ­Friday, the Roads and Transport Authority said.

The work was completed in partnership with developer Nakheel and includes a temporary entrance to the islands and the opening of Dubai Canal.

The western bridge links with Al Khaleej Road, towards the new harbour and fish market.

The developer also extended the existing canal walls as far as the new fish market marina.

The complex is expected to provide accommodation for 250,000 people.
