Developers urged to promote traffic safety at construction sites

Abu Dhabi Municipality has urged those involved with security and safety of workers to take preventive measures to avoid traffic accidents at construction sites.

ABU DHABI // Developers and contractors have been urged to take traffic safety measures at construction sites.

Abu Dhabi City Municipality officials said these measures can protect both workers and motorists from accidents, speaking at a workshop held in the capital.

The Traffic Safety at Work Areas conference was aimed at ensuring smooth traffic flow around construction sites, raising safety standards and promoting awareness among developers, contractors and consultants involved in infrastructure projects.

The Abu Dhabi Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport, Abu Dhabi Police and the Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) participated in the workshop.

Among the topics discussed were problems and challenges with creating traffic diversions, improving diversion layout and managing traffic flow, and health and safety measures for construction sites.
