Bus times, they are a-changing in Dubai

DUBAI // It will be all change on the buses from Sunday when different timetables in Dubai are introduced.

Affected routes are: 4, 13B, 31, 64, 64A, 93, C19, C26, X94 and F21.

In addition, 31 has been rerouted to stop at Al Ittihad Mall.

Full lists of the changes will be posted at bus stops across the city.

Members of the public received a text message yesterday from the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) telling them: “For more info, kindly contact 8009090 or check bus timetables at bus stops or main stations.”

Travellers can learn about timings and delays and receive other transport updates through the RTA’s text message system by texting 5223.

The text message system has grown in popularity since being introduced late last year, with well over 4,000 inquiries received by the end of May, according to the RTA.

“In keeping with the existing trends of the telecommunications industry, we are seeking through this service to ensure that passengers are well aware of the exact arrival times of public buses and the metro service,” said Adel Shakeri, director of transport at the RTA.

“This will undoubtedly contribute to improving this vital service in keeping with the profile of Dubai as a global business and economic hub.”
