DUBAI // The Al Wasl Road bridge will open this Friday as part of phase two of the Dubai Canal Project.
The Roads and Transport Authority project features two lanes in both directions as well as a lane for traffic coming from Al Wasl Road to Al Aathar Street.
The bridge is eight metres above the canal, allowing for free flow of traffic 24 hours a day.
It will also improve traffic flow on Al Wasl Road, and for vehicles travelling to and from Jumeirah 1 towards Jumeirah 2, Jumeirah 3 and Park Street.
Once open, work underneath the bridge will be completed, with new sub-roads and walkways.
Elsewhere, work on the Southern Bridge on Sheikh Zayed Road and Jumeirah Street Bridge should be completed by mid-July.
