Al Ain Traffic and Patrols is sponsoring a “Kids’ Smart Police Patrol” at the traffic exhibition in Al Ain Mall as part of Gulf Traffic Week.

Lt Nasser Al Shamsi, head of public relations, said the idea was submitted by First Warrant Officer Mohammed Al Ghaiti and policeman Abdulah Al Nuaimi of the public relations department.

The exhibit is a small smart vehicle equipped with a smart screen, a camera, an iPad and a walkie-talkie. The car is also plastered with traffic-awareness messages and posters for children, presented in an attractive and simplified manner.

Lt Al Shamsi said the goal was to break the barrier of fear among kids towards patrol police, instil traffic safety awareness and encourage children to cooperate with officers in implementing traffic rules, especially getting on and off school buses safely and using pedestrian crossings.
