An accident along Sheikh Zayed Road, heading towards Dubai, left commuters caught in more than 10 kilometres of bumper-to-bumper traffic on Thursday.
The accident, which happened between Ghantoot and Last Exit South, was reported by motorists at 7pm and added almost 40 minutes to their journeys.
The heavy congestion appeared to begin to clear at the flyover for Jebel Ali Free Zone.
