DUBAI // Three men were arrested for possession of more than 155 kilograms of illegal drugs, prosecutors told the Dubai Criminal Court.
EE, 36, MY, 30, and HE, 41, all from Turkey, denied charges of possessing amphetamine tablets with the intention to sell.
Dubai police captain AL, 38, told prosecutors that he was among the team tasked to arrest the men after the anti-narcotics department received a tip.
“We raided a flat in Naif where the men were caught as they arranged the tablets into boxes. We also found cash in the apartment,” said AL.
The captain said the three men were placing thousands of tablets into different boxes and bags when officers raided the flat.
Prosecutors said HE confessed during questioning and said he was promised US$15,000 in return for keeping hold of the drugs.
The next hearing will be on December 8.
