Ramadan celebrations this year are expected to lead to record use of social-media platforms, as Muslims increasingly take to the internet to share their experiences of the holy month.
On Thursday, more than 1.6 billion Muslims around the world will begin observing Ramadan, the ninth month in the Islamic calendar.
Twitter is inviting people to share their experiences using hashtags #Ramadan, #Eid, #Iftar, and #EidMubarak.
Last year, people Tweeted more than 215 million times about Ramadan, up from 74.2 million in 2013.
