FUJAIRAH // An Emirati teenager has been accused of killing his mother with a sharp object on Sunday.
The 17-year-old, AMM, is said to have struck his mother, KAH, 40, with a bladed weapon before she died of her injuries two hours later in Fujairah Hospital.
Colonel Humaid Mohammad Al Yamahi, the director general of Fujairah Police, said the incident took place at 7pm on Sunday in Murshid and that the son was the prime suspect.
Mr Al Yamahi added that the suspect said he committed the crime after an argument with his mother.
Police are still investigating the suspect after which he will be referred to public prosecution.
