DUBAI // A taxi driver who forced his female passenger to record him on his mobile phone as he pleasured himself was sentenced to three months in jail.
South African Z M, 25, said she hailed a taxi on the afternoon of December 15 last year and sat in the front seat next to the driver.
Soon after, the driver, J K, 47, from Pakistan, began groping her.
“He touched my leg, my breasts and then tried to reach my private parts,” Z M said.
She told the court that the defendant then handed her his mobile phone and forced her to record him as he revealed himself from below the waist.
He then dropped her off at her destination and left.
The driver was arrested on December 22 and was later identified by the victim.
At Dubai Criminal Court earlier this month, he confessed to a charge of sexual assault and asked the judges for mercy.
He will be deported after completing his jail term.
