Sudan's president thanks UAE team for saving children's lives

A UAE initiative that helped Sudanese children born with heart defects receive free, life-saving operations has been hailed by the country's president.

A team of specialists from Nabadat, which means heartbeat, this month operated on 41 children at Wad Medani hospital, 200 kilometres from Khartoum.

The mission was funded by the Mohammed bin Rashid Foundation, in partnership with the Dubai Health Authority.

Sudanese president Omar Al Bashir thanked the foundation for its work as he greeted a team of UAE delegates yesterday.
