Storm in Northeastern United States delays Emirates flights



DUBAI// A storm that blanketed the Northeastern United States with snow has delayed three Emirates flights between Dubai and New York, the airline said.

Flight EK202 was due to depart from John F Kennedy International Airport in New York at 11pm yesterday, New York time, but has been delayed for 10 hours, the company said.

The flight has not yet departed. Flight EK204, also traveling from New York to Dubai, was set to depart at 10.40am today, New York time, but will leave three hours later. And Emirates flight EK203 from Dubai to New York was delayed for about four hours, but has since departed, the statement said. "

Emirates apologises for any inconvenience caused to its customers, however the safety of our passengers and crew is of the highest priority and will not be compromised," the statement said.

A spokesman for Etihad Airways said that none of its flights were affected by the storm.
