Sharjah Police are targeting young motorists who drive modified 4x4s in the desert.
Traffic officers have launched an awareness campaign called ‘Slow down … and save yourself’ aimed at curbing reckless driving and speeding by youngsters, with leaflets and even first aid kits handed out to motorists.
“The leaflets contain advice and guidelines that motorists should be aware off. The campaign focused on desert areas frequented by the youth,” said Colonel Shawaf Abdulrahman, Director of traffic and patrols.
Col Abdulrahman said Sharjah Police run regular campaigns to curb reckless driving an impound illegally modified cars. “These campaigns have been running all year long and are aimed at preserving life and property.”
