Sharjah man who ‘stabbed wife to death during a fight’ is arrested

Police said other tenants in the shared apartment saw what had happened and restrained the Pakistani man until officers arrived.

SHARJAH // A man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his wife to death at their shared apartment.

Shouting was heard by other tenants at the Abu Shagara flat so one person opened the couple’s door to find the Pakistani wife on the floor bleeding.

Police said the fellow Pakistani husband tried to flee but other tenants held him until officers arrived.

Emergency crews arrived to find the woman already dead. Her body was taken to the Sharjah Police’s forensic lab to determine the cause of death.

Police said the husband admitted to stabbing his wife during a fight. He has been referred to prosecutors to face trial.
