The fugitives were arrested from various places in September and October, said Col Jihad bin Sahoo, the director general of Sharjah CID.
"Most illegals were staying in abandoned houses while others in buildings still under construction and were involved in illegal activities during the day like begging and street vending," he said.
Col bin Sahoo said the crackdown on illegal residents was an ongoing campaign and urged the public to report them to the police on 800151 or 999 or sms 7999.
