ABU DHABI // The Colombian singer Shakira and the Egyptian performer Amr Diab will play live in Abu Dhabi at the end of the month, it was announced today.
Shakira, known for top songs including "Whenever, wherever" and "Waka Waka (This time for Africa)", will perform on April 29 at Yas Arena on Yas Island.
The award-winning artist Diab, also famous for international hits such as "Nour el Ain" and "Tamalli Maak", will perform on the same day at Yas Arena.
Considered the highest-selling Colombian artist of all time, Shakira is the second-most successful female Latin singer after Gloria Estefan with global sales of 70 million albums.
Diab, famous for being the best-selling Arab recording performer in the past 20 years, is also known for his Mediterranean-type music combining Western and Egyptian beats. He has sold over 50 million albums worldwide.
