With the school week getting into full swing on Monday, roads were full of traffic in the morning.
Drivers took to Twitter venting their frustration at longer queues and slower roads, some even asking why more parents did not send their children on school buses.
Several minor accidents were reported in and around Dubai such as Jebel Ali and Sheikh Zayed Road, with the usual trouble spots such as Hessa Street, Umm Suqeim and Sheikh Zayed Road hit with congestion.
