A girls’ school in Ras Al Khaimah was evacuated on Monday after a small fire broke out in a storeroom.
More than 600 students from Sheikha Mahra bint Ahmed School were sent home as a precaution, Al Ittihad, the Arabic language sister paper of The National reported.
The school said the cause of the smoke coming from the storeroom was yet unknown, but had not caused any serious material damage.
