The body of an Asian worker who fell from a mountaintop in Ras Al Khaimah while on duty has been recovered by the police with the help of local residents.

The body of an Asian worker who fell from a mountaintop in Ras Al Khaimah while on duty has been recovered by the police with the help of local residents, Al Ittihad newspaper reported today.

The worker is said to have fallen after "losing his balance" and sustaining fatal injuries as he rolled down the mountain, according to Col Suleiman Mohammed Al Keezi, head of the Al Rams police station.

A police helicopter was dispatched to the scene immediately after the accident was reported, but the worker was found dead. The case has been referred to the proper authorities to finalise legal procedures.

Col Al Keezi urged all mountain-goers, including workers, locals and tourists, to take safety precautions and be aware of the risks of manoeuvring through steep, rugged areas.
