RAS AL KHAIMAH // A group of people have been arrested in Ras Al Khaimah for falsifying credit cards and using stolen data from others’ cards to buy gold and sell it for a cheaper price.
Maj Gen Ali Al Nuaimi, chief commander of RAK Police, said a CID team arrested at a gang of people from an unspecified Asian country, after they were placed on surveillance.
Police released a photo showing five people standing with equipment seized from their residence and allegedly used to falsify, copy and print cards.
Col Abdullah Mankhas, director of CID at RAK police, warned credit-card holders and shop owners to protect themselves from fraud and to contact their banks as soon as they receive notification of suspicious transactions.
