The Department of Public Works in Ras Al Khaimah has announced that construction of a 2 kilometre path for joggers and runners on Al Qawassim Corniche is underway.
Ahmed Mohammed Al Hammadi, director general of the RAK Public Works Department, explained that the path is specifically designed with specifications that will allow joggers and runners to practice their sport on a dedicated pathway.
He added that the department began maintenance work on the corniche on Tuesday, as instructed by Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qassimi member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.
The running path will replace the central walkway in the park on the corniche.
He said that Al Qawassim Corniche has become a key tourist destination for nationals and residents in RAK, who go there for a walk or a workout.
