DUBAI // A policeman who molested a woman he met on Facebook was sentenced to two years in jail by the Dubai Criminal Court on Monday.
On November 10 last year, Emirati S A, 26, befriended K B, 25, on the social networking site. The pair then struck up a conversation on BlackBerry Messenger and agreed to meet up.
“I agreed to see him in a mall in Deira, he waited for me at the car park,” said K B. “I asked him about his plans, he said he was going for a drive and asked me to join him.”
They drove around for an hour, before parking near a hotel.
“He put the car sun shade on the front window, then kissed me on the lips. I told him to stop but he didn’t,” she said.
“Instead, he pulled off my T-shirt and touched my chest. I screamed and pushed his hand away but he put his hand on my mouth to stop my screaming.”
Records show that S A sat on top of his victim and continued molesting her despite her pleas.
“He said to me ‘shut up or I will kill you,’ while keeping one of his hands in a choking position as he continued to molest me.”
The woman managed to jump to the driver’s seat and honk the horn. K B then opened the door and ran away.
He had denied charges of sexual assault and issuing threats At the Dubai Criminal Court last May. “She offered herself to me and I turned her down,” he said.
