A policeman convicted of using excessive force on an ambushed defendant was acting in self defence, an Abu Dhabi court heard.
Emirati A S was issued a suspended sentence by the lower court, but his lawyer argued that during the ambush, the defendant tried to break free from police and attacked them, leading to A S defending himself and his colleagues.
A verdict will be given on December 14.
