ABU DHABI // Abu Dhabi traffic police found 21,962 vehicles with faulty tyres in the first half of this year.
Col Hamad Nasser Al Baloushi, head of highway traffic at Abu Dhabi Police, has called on drivers to check their tyres and spare tyres regularly and change any worn tyres to avoid bursting accidents.
He also urged motorists to make sure their tyres conformed to safety standards. Vehicles with unsafe tyres will be confiscated for a week and their owners face fines of Dh200.
