DUBAI // A man who allegedly helped to murder his boss appeared in court yesterday after being extradited from Pakistan.

M A A, 36 and M R S, 31, both Pakistanis, are accused of killing Ehsan Rida in May 2009.

M A A denied the charges at the criminal court, blaming his accomplice, who is still on the loose.

Prosecutors said that the defendants had lured their victim into a warehouse where their company was working.

M R S attacked the man from behind while he was talking to M A A, it was alleged. They then hid his body in a rubbish bag and dumped it in an abandoned warehouse near by.

They took Rida’s bank cards and withdrew more than Dh92,000 from his account. M R S gave his accomplice Dh10,000 and paid for his airfare back to Pakistan. He then returned to work and told colleagues that their boss was working in Abu Dhabi. A few days later, he fled the country.

M A A was extradited back to the UAE on June 12 last year.

During questioning by police he said he had played no part in the murder and had been surprised when M R S killed his boss.

He said he was then coerced into helping to hide the body.

“He stabbed him first in the abdomen, then the back and other parts of his body before he started stabbing his face to disfigure him, and lastly he cut his throat,” he told police.

M R S is also charged with forging cheques worth Dh85,000 stolen from the deceased, which he cashed at a bank in Dubai.

M A A denied charges of aiding and abetting the forging, use of forged documents and illegally obtaining the money. The next hearing was set for next Sunday.
