National Geographic Abu Dhabi is inviting photographers from the region to submit photos for a chance to win an all-inclusive 11-day safari in Tanzania.

The winning photograph will also be included in National Geographic Al Arabiya, which is published by Abu Dhabi Media, the parent company of The National.

Registration for the Abu Dhabi Moments contest, in its fifth year, will be open from April 4 until May 13. This year’s theme is “Arab cities: the city through your eyes”. Participants will be asked to share their personal journey in one image on the theme.

“Our content is geared towards featuring Arab talent, with local programming which represents and promotes Arab cities in all their beauty,” said Sanjay Raina, the general manager at Fox International Channels Middle East.

The entries will be judged by a team of experts, including Randy Olson, an award-winning photographer regularly commissioned by National Geographic. “There is so much creative talent in the Arab region, and I am looking forward to experiencing each city through the eyes of the photographer.”

Alsaad Al Menhali, editor-in-chief of National Geographic Al Arabiya, also a judge, said the contest was an opportunity to witness the uniqueness of each city.

Second and third-place winners will receive photography hampers worth US$5,000 (Dh18,634) and $2,500, respectively.
