ABU DHABI // Nominations have opened for the second annual Mubadala Youth Award, which recognises inspirational young Emiratis who have had a positive effect on society.
The award is open to those between the ages of seven and 25 years who are driven, ambitious and committed to contributing to the community.
“The Mubadala Youth Award programme is designed to help inspire young people by showcasing stories of youth across the UAE who are a true source of pride, with the hope that this causes a ripple effect,” said Nadine Hassan, head of integrated marketing at Mubadala.
“We are looking forward to receiving inspiring applications for the award and highlighting some of these at the forum.”
Registration for the fifth annual Mubadala Youth Forum, which takes place on October 7 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, is also open.
The three winners of the youth award will be recognised at the forum, which will feature speakers and interactive workshops on the theme “From College to Career”.
Industry leaders will speak on topics relating to career readiness and the progression from higher education to the job market.
Mubadala, a strategic investment company owned by the Abu Dhabi Government, aims to foster an environment empowering the future generation through the awards and forum, and enabling young nationals to contribute to the nation’s future.
“Through these and a range of other Mubadala initiatives we are committed to helping young Emiratis realise the important role they will play in the UAE’s future,” said Ms Hassan.
“With this year’s theme our aim is to extend the benefit of the event beyond information and insights, to skills and tools that will help students see tangible results in their chosen career paths.”
The forum, which attracts hundreds of students from across the UAE, offers youths the chance to interact with Emirati business leaders and role models as they consider their career options.
In the past, students took part in a workshop that provided practical experience with interview skills and stressed the importance of teamwork and interpersonal skills to productivity at the workplace.
