AL AIN // An Emirati women was killed last week after her son accidentally reversed his car over her as she slept on the driveway of her house.
A casualty doctor at Tawam Hospital said the woman, thought to have been in her 60s, had been taken into intensive care but died within minutes of reaching the hospital.
She was said to have arrived at the hospital with her son, who told doctors he was the driver of the car.
A relative, OS, said: "She was walking in the alleyway and the weather was nice, so she took a nap behind a car in the driveway. [The driver] then reversed into her by accident. Poor boy, he has been in terrible condition ever since, and will not leave his room."
It is allegedly the third such accident in Al Ain this month, following reports of two other cases in which toddlers were run over by their uncles.
Police would not confirm any of the incidents, or provide any further details.
