A total of 1,127 missions were carried out by Dubai Police Air Wing in 2014, up from 1,013 missions in 2013.
According to the police, 109 flights were logged last year for training purposes, 578 were in the form of air patrols and 54 for search operations.
Statistics also showed that 11 missions involved patient airlift, 137 involved the transportation of people injured in traffic accidents, 95 ceremonial missions and 37 aircraft checks. The crafts were also used in 106 missions for aerial imagery.
Abdullah Al Shehy, director of the air wing department, said they conduct a wide range of humanitarian and service missions including airlifting patients, search and rescue and road surveillance.
