ABU DHABI // The Ministry of Interior Child Protection Centre has called on families to be vigilant about their children’s safety during the Eid Al-Adha holidays.

Major Dr Mohammed Khalifa Al Ali, Director of the centre, urged parents to take all the necessary precautions to avoid losing their children when they are in crowded public places. He said children should not be allowed to go out by themselves in case they are involved in road accidents or are molested or abducted.

Under UAE law, parents are legally responsible for their children’s safety and protection from hazards, added Dr Al Ali.

He stressed the importance of ensuring that adequate safety measures are present at home and in play areas, of keeping children away from hazardous fireworks and of constantly reminding them about etiquette and good manners.
