Almost four million Captagon pills were seized by Abu Dhabi Police in two operations - one called The Death Tank and the other The Red Line.

Maj Gen Maktoum Al Sharifi, director general of the force, said that the drug control team is working hard to stop drug dealers.

Colonel Taher Al Dhaheri, director of the Drug Control Department, said that a gang of three Arabs were arrested while trying to sell three million tablets hidden in a warehouse.

"The pills were hidden inside a large metal tank in a warehouse in a poor attempt to mislead the drug control team, who were on the lookout and managed to put an end to their criminal plans," he said.

In the second operation, The Red Line, two Arab men were arrested while attempting to sell 612,000 of the pills.

“The operation was called The Red Line to indicate and stress that the country’s security is a red line and cannot be violated or touched,” said Colonel Al Dhaheri.

He added that Abu Dhabi Police is determined to combat all kinds of drug trafficking and urged the public to collaborate with police to achieve safety and security.
