DUBAI // Three unemployed men allegedly broke into a warehouse and stole hundreds of electrical goods including TVs and air conditioners valued at more than Dh230,000, a court heard.
At the Dubai Criminal Court on Monday, Indians MH, 26, MT, 30, and MA, 40, denied stealing 48 air conditioning units, 750 irons and 179 TVs. They stored the stolen goods in a villa in Sharjah.
Court records showed that the three men broke the lock of a warehouse belonging to an electronics company in Al Qusais industrial area 3 on June 8, 2012. They used lorries to transfer the items valued at Dh230,138.
Police officer FM, 27, told prosecutors that police were able to identify the men and discovered that they were already in custody for another case.
“We asked the defendants and they confessed to breaking into the warehouse and stealing the items. They were referred to Public prosecution,” said FM.
At Dubai Criminal court, the men denied a charge of theft.
The next hearing is set for May 21.
