SHARJAH // Six men were injured, one severely, when they were attacked by a masked gang wielding knives in Nakhelat.

Police believe the gang, of different Arab nationalities and aged between 18 and 25, attacked the men after a disagreement with one of them a few hours earlier.

Brigadier Abdullah Mubarak Al Dukhan, the deputy director general of Sharjah Police, said: "One of the victims was severely injured and was admitted to the ICU at Al Qassimi Hospital for some days.

"He has since left the ICU and his condition is improving, but he is still in hospital."

The rest of the victims received treatment for minor injuries at Kuwait hospital and were discharged.

Police have arrested six men in connection with the attack that happened two weeks ago.

One of the men arrested had recently left prison and was due to be deported, police said. They are still looking for another man.
