Manager who molested three employees loses appeal

Dubai// A manager’s three-month-sentence for molesting and threatening to kill three Filipino female employees was upheld by the Dubai Court of Appeal.

Egyptian public relations manager E A, 40, molested Filipinos S M, 30, J D, 34, and C A, 26, in May last year.

SM worked as a secretary and part of her responsibilities was to accompany E A on visits to government bodies.

“He frequently told me he wanted to marry me and have sex with me. While in the car he would touch my body. Once I stopped him, he threatened to kill me and cancel my residency,” said S M.

S M said that E A also molested her in the office but she was afraid to report him because she had no evidence.

“On one incident I managed to record him touching my breast, another time while he was kissing my colleague against her will,”said S M.

Another victim, J D, said the molestation started in March and continued until May.

“While we were on our way to Abu Dhabi, he touched my behind and breast and asked to have sex with me.” She said that after she turned him down he started threatening her.

The testimony of the third victim, C A, was similar to her colleagues.

Prosecutors gave the court a video recording showing E A talking indecently to one of the women, another video of him kissing one against her will, while a third showed him touching a woman’s upper legs.

At court, E A said his accusers had been embezzling money from the company and when he found out and confronted them, they filed the case against him. He will be deported after completing his jail term.
