DUBAI // A real estate company manager who molested a job applicant must see out his three-month-jail sentence.
On Sunday, Dubai Court of Appeal upheld the sentence and deportation order against the Pakistani manager.
The court heard that the Indian victim, 19, contacted the defendant after reading an online advert saying his company was looking to hire a female employee.
“I called the phone number and he answered me and asked me to email him my CV,” the woman said.
A few days later, the man called to invite her to an interview.
On March 22, her and her husband attended what she was told was the company’s location in Al Rashidiyah.
The manager asked her husband to leave and took her to a building in International City.
“He claimed the company and his apartment were in the same building then said he had left his laptop at home,” said the job applicant.
When in his apartment, the manager told her he liked and her and wanted to have sex with her. She refused and tried to get out but he pulled her by the arm then kissed her against her will, then took off his shirt and exposed himself.
He then drove the woman back to her husband’s workplace and begged her not to tell anyone about the incident.
She informed her husband who reported the man to police.
The manager will be deported after serving his sentence.
