SHARJAH // One person was killed and four others injured in a knife fight involving seven men, police said.
A Bangladeshi man was killed in the fight that broke out on Monday in Al Mosala area of Sharjah. Men from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh used knives, stones and sharp metal objects as weapons.
Sharjah police received a report at 8.30pm and dispatched patrols to the area.
The victim was stabbed in the back and died on the way to hospital, said Colonel Ibrahim Alajel, director of Criminal investigation department.
Four other men who suffered injuries were taken to Al Qasimi and Kuwaiti hospitals.
Col Alajel said the fight was over a financial dispute and the men involved have been arrested.
“We will not stand by and see people endangering others,” said Col Alajel. “We will use the full extent of the law with anyone who endangers the lives of others.”
He urged residents to turn to police to resolve disputes.
