A man lost half a testicle after being kicked in the groin by a driver, Dubai Criminal Court was told.
On February 7, the Egyptian man was at a bus station in Al Rafaa when a man approached him, asking for directions.
"He wanted to know how he could go to Al Ain, so I pointed at the bus that could take him there," the man told the court.
Moments later, a Pakistani driver, 26, charged towards him and accused him of costing him a customer.
"He told me that he was going to drive the man. I said I just answered the man's question for directions. Then he grabbed my arm and when I pulled it back, he kicked me in the groin and threatened that I should not call police and left," the victim said.
He was taken to Rashid Hospital where he underwent surgery. Half of his right testicle had to be removed due to the damage caused, leaving him with a 20 per cent permanent disability.
In court, the defendant denied a physical assault charge. He was also charged with issuing threats.
