Man dies in RAK house fire

Police say cause of fire is still under investigation, but suspect no foul play at present

RAS AL KHAIMAH // An Emirati man died in a fire at his brother's home yesterday afternoon, police said.
An official spokesman for the police said the man, who was in his forties, was living with his brother's family.
"Until now, we don't have any real information that we can announce to the media," he said. "It's a normal fire: there is no suspicion of criminal intent right now."
This morning, it was reported that the man was found with his feet tied and that police were investigating a possible murder.
But a police spokesman would neither confirm or deny the report, but said: "I am not sure they have very strong sources because I am talking to the people in charge of this case and they don't know all the details. They cannot be sure until they see the fire inspectors."
