Man charged with rape appears at Criminal Court

ABU DHABI // An Emirati man who was accused of raping three boys has been cleared of the crimes after forensic evidence presented at the Criminal Court on Sunday revealed he had not attacked them.

He is however still charged with having pornographic material on his mobile phones, which were recovered by police when he was arrested.

AH, was accused by the boys and their father of raping them, but the father withdrew his accusation once the forensic evidence was presented.

The accused previously admitted that the phones belonged to him, but said he did not know they contained pornographic material.

He later claimed that the phones belonged to his colleague.

Chief justice Idris bin Mansour questioned why he kept changing his story.

A verdict will be announced on May 27.
