DUBAI // A 71-year-old man is believed to have died during an Emirates flight from Dubai to Manchester on Monday morning.
According to a statement from Greater Manchester Police, the man was found “unresponsive” by cabin crew on board the passenger jet.
“At around 7.30am on Monday 20 June 2016, a 71-year-old man travelling on a flight from Dubai to Manchester Airport was found unresponsive by the cabin crew,” said the statement.
“Despite the best efforts of the cabin crew and paramedics at the scene, the man was pronounced dead a short time later.”
Unconfirmed media reports in the UK suggest the passenger had been ill before boarding the aircraft in Dubai.
“There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a file will be prepared for the coroner,” added the statement from Greater Manchester Police.
Emirates had not responded at time of publication online.
