Malayalam TV chef opens Malabar restaurant in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI // The television chef Jumanah Kadri has opened her first signature restaurant in Abu Dhabi.

The guest of honour at the launch was the Malayalam actress Kavya Madhavan.

“I have known Jumanah Kadri for a long time,” Madhavan said. “We both belong to the same town. I have tried some of her dishes and they are very delicious.”

Kadri believed the Jumanah Malabar Restaurant was the first in the capital to serve Malabar cuisine.

“Although there are many restaurants in the capital serving Kerala cuisine, none of them served traditional, homestyle cuisine from the Malabar region. That is what inspired me to start my own restaurant.” Kadri has hosted a number of popular cookery shows on different Malayalam TV channels and written several cookery books,
