DUBAI // A limousine driver who sexually assaulted a passenger after picking her up from Dubai International Airport has been jailed for three months.
Dubai Criminal Court convicted the 36-year-old Bangladeshi of molesting the woman.
He touched her arms then offered to massage her shoulders while he was driving her to the Regency Hotel in Naif in the early hours of March 22.
The woman, whose nationality and age were not given, said she sat in the front seat of the limousine and on the way to the hotel the driver touched her left arm and attempted to touch her thigh.
He told the tourist that he only wanted to give her a massage to help her relax after the long flight. After he dropped her off at the hotel, the woman called police and gave officers the limousine’s plate number.
Police and prosecutors said the driver he admitted a sexual assault charge during questioning.
However, in court last month he denied it saying: “I didn’t touch her at all.”
He was convicted and will be deported after serving his jail term.
