DUBAI // A licence plate, number I 44, sold for Dh2.3 million (US$630,000) during an auction of registrations in which sales topped Dh15m. Second most expensive was E17, which went for Dh2.1m followed by G 1111, which fetched Dh1m. The three plates were among 91 numbers selling for a total of Dh15.4m at the auction in Jumeirah Beach Residence earlier this week. The world's most expensive number plate, 1, which went under the hammer for Dh52.2m in Abu Dhabi last year, was bought by Saeed Abdul Ghafour Khouri, a businessman.
