A legal guide to national service that includes information about joining the service and sanctions of the law has been released.
The Institute of Training and Judicial Studies, an organisation based in Abu Dhabi, published “Your Guide to National Service” as per Federal Law No 6 from this year, the state news agency Wam reported.
The publication is part of a series of legal guides that the institute issues each year. Mariam Al Marzouqi, a legal researcher, prepared the guide.
Love for the country should be expressed by sacrifice, devotion and fulfillment, said Mohammed Al Kamali, general director of the institute.
National service for Emirati men became law in June, requiring those aged between 18 and 30 to sign up for military service. Women may also volunteer.
